Call for Grants for “Collaboration with CSOs to raise the capacities in the conservation of species that has genetic and bioprospecting (marketing and research) values and potential for fair and equitable benefit sharing
Albania is a Party to the Nagoya Protocol since its entry into force (accession) on November 12, 2014. The Ministry of Tourism and Environment is the designated institution where the Nagoya Protocol on ABS focal point is hosted. The Global ABS project objective is to assist countries in the development and strengthening of their national Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) frameworks, human resources and administrative capabilities to implement the Nagoya Protocol. This project will remove the barriers that prevent this from happening through in-country and regional and global level activities implemented. This call for grants aims for strengthening the capacity of CSOs to contribute to the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol. The purpose of this grant scheme is to support interested CSOs (Civil Society Organizations) to contribute in improving capacities in the conservation of species that have genetic and bioprospecting (marketing and research) values and potential for fair and equitable benefit sharing. Interested organizations are therefore requested to submit a proposal as a potential grant implementer no later than 15 of November 2019 at the address 'firstname.lastname@example.org'.
