UN in ALBANIA

The support of the international community and the United Nations system in response to the country’s reform and recovery requirements has been extraordinarily forthcoming and positive. Financial assistance to Albania, estimated on per capita terms, is one of the highest in the transition countries of eastern and central Europe.

The United Nations system is represented in Albania by:

In addition to discharging its own mandate, UNDP provides coordination and administrative support to other UN agencies. Other UN specialized agencies that are active in Albania, but do not have their own formal Representation in the country, such as FAO, UNIDO, IFAD, IAEA, UNDCP/ODCCP, UNOPS, UNCTAD, ILO, rely on the UNDP Country Office for support and liaison with national authorities.
