Introduction to the UN System in Albania United Nations Agencies with
representations in Albania After the official opening of the UNDP office in August 1991, the following United Nations specialized Agencies are represented in Albania: UNFPA, UNICEF, UNHCR, WFP, and WHO. The UNDP Resident Representative is also the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations System's Operational Activities for Development. Diplomatic missions accredited to Albania The following countries have established Embassies in Tirana: Austria, Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Netherlands, Hungary, Italy, Iran, Libya, Kosovo, Macedonia, Palestine, Poland, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Malta, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States of America, Yugoslavia. Denmark, Spain, and Sweden have established honorary consulates in Tirana: Most of these countries have developed bilateral aid programmes.
