    Students call for conservation of biodiversity in Karaburun

    Vlore, 22 May 2014. School students of Orikum High School in Vlora called on communities to conserve biodiversity. Celebrating the International Day of Biodiversity, they organized a number of sports activities such as volleyball, kayak, running and painting. This event helped send a message to their peers but also to the public in the surrounding area: Everybody should work towards preserving marine and coastal resources for the benefit of sustainable tourism and people living in the area.

    LGBTI Rights are human rights

    Deeply-embedded homophobic and transphobic attitudes, often combined with a lack of adequate legal protection, expose many lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in all regions of the world to violations of their human rights. They are discriminated against in the labour market, in schools and in hospitals, mistreated and disowned by their own families. They are singled out for physical attack – beaten, assaulted, and killed.

    The new social center in Rrapishta offers opportunities to Roma Communities

    As of today, the Community members of Rrapishta have their community center. Around two hundred fifty families can make use of the services offered by the center. The center has a kindergarten and it will also provide other social services such as, counseling and information about health, human rights, legal advice.
