Our Funding and Delivery
Where our money comes from and what we spend it on?
UNDP Albania partners with a number of international development organizations who provide the majority of funding for our programme areas as articulated in the Government of Albania-United Nations Programme of Cooperation 2012-2016.
Funding for UNDP also comes from the UN Coherence Fund which supports the achievement of the outcomes articulated in the Government of Albania-United Nations Programme of Cooperation 2012-2016. Decisions on Coherence Fund allocations are taken by the Joint Executive Committee, a strategic decision-making body for the Programme of Cooperation 2012-2016 co-chaired by the Director of the Department for Strategy and Donor Coordination and the UN Resident Coordinator.
The UNDP Multi-Donor Trust Fund Office has been appointed as the administrative agent of the Albania UN Coherence Fund.
UNDP's core resources are used as seed funding to kick start programmes, demonstrate initial results and to leverage funding for scaling up of critical interventions. Thus, our core resources are used to leverage our technical and managerial expertise and to provide a programmatic framework for our partners to make investments into strategic areas of support.
